You have probably heard me say before that I am not a big supporter of protein powders and supplements in general. Let me just say, since I’ve had 4 gaping holes in my jaw, protein powder and I have become BFFs. Other than pureed soups, yogurt, and the odd, painful runny scrambled egg or smashed avocado, protein shakes have sustained me for nearly a week. Choose a powder that is sugar-free and made from a whey isolate. And don’t use protein powder in place of real protein. If you can find 5 minutes to cook yourself a couple of eggs, you’re better off eating real food. But in a pinch…
